Guided implantology with surgical template

Guided implantology is a modern and advanced method of placing dental implants. We use digital techniques, such as 3D scans (CBCT), to plan the implant in advance with millimeter precision.

We then use a surgical template during treatment to place the implant in the jaw bone exactly according to that plan.

What is the difference with the traditional method?

In traditional implantology, the implant is placed manually based on x-rays or a scan. This always requires a small amount of estimation, which is less predictable.

With guided implantology we plan digitally in advance and work with a custom-made surgical template. This allows us to perform the procedure more precisely, faster and often less invasively.

Benefits of guided implantology

  • Very precise placement;
  • Less invasive: often minimal cutting technique required;
  • Faster healing and less after-pain;
  • More predictability in aesthetics and function;
  • A treatment that is completely tailor-made.

How does the treatment proceed?

1. Introduction & research
We will examine your situation and, if necessary, make a 3D scan of your jaw.

2. Digital planning
We plan the implant virtually based on the final desired crown position (the so-called crown-down technique).

3. Design surgical template
Based on the digital planning, a personal mold is designed and manufactured.

4. Placement of the implant
During the treatment we use the mold to place the implant exactly as planned
