Invisible braces for adults: discreet and effective

A radiant smile gives self-confidence. It is therefore a shame to accept crooked teeth! Many adults think that the lack of braces in their youth is unsolvable. Nothing could be further from the truth. No less than 25% of all patients who wear braces are adults. However, most adults no longer want to walk around with metal plates on their teeth. The invisible brace for adults is the solution for everyone who wants to be able to smile without worries for the rest of their lives.

At Botman Dentists we no longer work with metal brackets and wires. Instead we work with invisible braces – also called aligners – which can achieve the same result in many situations. We refer brace treatments for children, for which a plate brace is often used.

Why invisible braces as an adult?

In the past, it was mainly children who walked around with braces, usually in the form of the traditional plate brace. Nowadays, more and more adults are choosing to make the choice for braces at a later age. Not only for a more beautiful smile, but also to improve general oral health. Invisible braces offer the perfect solution:

  • It is almost invisible when worn
  • Comfortable and removable, so no more food residues between your braces
  • Typically no less effective than other solutions, except in special situations
  • Regular check-ups and step-by-step guidance by an experienced dentist

Ordoline – because your teeth deserve the very best

The most beautiful and innovative in the field of aligners is called Ordoline. This transparent, custom-made brace cover (an 'aligner') is almost invisible and looks like a mouthguard. Because you can hardly see it, it is a perfect solution for many adults to improve their teeth inconspicuously. An additional advantage is that the wearing comfort of this invisible brace is experienced by many as better than traditional plate braces.

The treatment consists of a series of virtually invisible and removable aligners. You wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day, and you can easily remove them only when eating and drinking. Every 10 days you change to new aligners at home. Each time you click a new aligner over your teeth, your teeth will gradually shift until the desired end result is achieved. Every 6 to 8 weeks you will come to the practice to check that everything is going well.

On average, the treatment takes 1-1,5 years, depending on the position of the teeth to be corrected. After completion of the treatment, it is important that the teeth remain in the correct position. There are two methods for this: placing a splint on the inside of the front teeth and wearing an invisible night brace. The splint is custom-made and only holds the front teeth in position, which often prevents the other teeth from moving either. In most cases, the splint is only placed in the lower jaw. A night brace presses all teeth back into the correct position every night. Together, we will look at which solution is best for your situation.

At Botman Dentists we consciously choose the Ordoline system with its many advantages. For more information about Ordoline and before and after photos we advise you to take a look at www.ordoline.com.

How much does invisible braces cost for adults?

The cost of the treatment depends largely on the complexity of the teeth and the desired corrections. With one set of teeth, fewer steps are needed to achieve the desired result than with another. During an initial consultation, we will talk to you extensively to discuss your wishes. After the consultation, you will know everything about the treatment plan and we will send you a clear price quote.

Please note that braces for adults are not always reimbursed by insurance. It can be partially reimbursed through additional insurance. Together we ensure that you will not be faced with any surprises afterwards

Unfortunately, not everything is possible with aligners. If the correction is not feasible, we will refer you. For more information about possible restrictions, see www.ordoline.com.

Choose a radiant and healthy smile

A beautiful smile is the goal of many who visit a specialized dentist for orthodontics. However, crooked teeth can also bring additional health challenges. Teeth that are in the most optimal position opposite each other have an optimal chewing function, which ensures less wear. Straight teeth are therefore very important in the long term. In addition, they are also easier to keep clean, which leads to fewer cavities and other dental complaints.
